Avoiding the academically decorative aesthetics of yearbooks, we made an issue, which focuses on the relationship between the graduate and his school. Students were given the freedom of choosing where, with whom and how they want to be portrayed within the territory of school. Each student also gave an experience in the form of a text, which later was placed in the yearbook exactly in the way it was written including spelling and punctuation mistakes.

Highschool Yearbook in Narrative 2015

Yearbook in Photo Narrative is a new concept on high school yearbooks with a unified photo narrative “memory”.

Minimalistic design focuses attention on quality photos and neat comments. The satellite-shape of school, that is visualized on the cover, is embossed and creates an illusion of an actual 3D building from satellite.

The cover.  The shape you see is the shape of my school from satellite. It is embossed and creates an illusion of an actual 3D building from satellite. The photo in the shape is the main entrance in my school.

It is not easy to uncover the scenes of the past, maybe just as hard as sketching out the future says Paul Valéry. But a task this complicated is assigned to photography. Both graduate classes have made their own photo narrative story about “memory”. The subject is favorable for interpretation so in the end we have two different stories on how we reflect our memories nowadays. Despite the fact that memory is one of the most subjective and untrustworthy sources of information, it’s still the most precious, adaptable and always favorable collection of reality, which to some extent we all own.
